Getting the Best Deal for your Trade
Trading in your current car to purchase a new one is a
common practice at dealerships. Liberty Buick
GMC can help you determine the value
of your trade- in before you get on the lot. Or in 15
minutes, our estimator will inspect your vehicle and give you the trade-in
value.
You should know that the trade-in value for your car at a
dealership is going to be less than what a private buyer will pay for your car.
There are several factors to look at when deciding whether to trade-in your
car, truck or van or to try to sell it privately.
Why the Trade-In
Value is Less
When a typical dealer looks at a trade-in, they have to
consider many factors. Only the best of
the best of trade-ins are kept on the lot. Most trade-ins are sold at an auto auction. Dealers consider how much they can get at
auction. That price needs to cover what
they give you for your trade-in, plus a little bit of profit for taking the
risk of selling your car. The dealer doesn’t make any money on your trade-in if
it doesn’t sell. If the dealer decides
to keep your car on the lot, they will have to repair any damages and cover the
costs of cleaning, taxes, lot security and advertisement. Many states require dealerships to guarantee a
used car for a specific amount of time or mileage. With that said, the dealer needs to feel
confident in the condition of the vehicle. All of these costs factor into a lower
trade-in value than you will get selling it to an individual privately.
Hassle vs. Convenience
Selling your car to an individual takes time and effort. It requires advertising.
You can put For Sale sign in the car window, buy an ad in the newspaper
or list your vehicle on a website like Craigslist. Depending on the type of
vehicle, price and condition, your vehicle may take a while to sell. Plus, you need to make sure you have the
proper documents for the buyer at the time of the sale.
Trading in your vehicle with Liberty
GMC Buick is hassle-free. It’s a one
day transaction. You can sell it out right to us or trade it in and get a price
reduction on a new car. If you trade-in your car, you will also benefit from a
sales tax reduction. In most states, you
will only pay sale tax on the difference of the purchase price, minus the
trade-in value. For example, if you
purchase a new car at $40,000 and receive $10,000 discount for your trade-in,
you will save about $1,000 if the sales tax is 10 percent.
Best Price for your
Trade-In
Before you bring your car into the dealership for an
estimate, make sure you it looks great! Take
the time to clean your car inside and out. Or better yet, spend a little money
getting it detailed. This will show the dealership you have a well-kept
vehicle. Have all service records
available. Receipts or documents showing
the last oil change, tire purchase, and tune-ups will go a long way in getting
the best price for your trade-in. Fix
minor cosmetic problems if you can. But don’t worry about putting a lot of
money into your old car. A dealership can fix minor damage at a fraction of the
cost.

2014 Liberty Buick GMC Introduces 2014 Models - Yukon Denali, Acadia & Enclave
Weddington,
NC – Liberty Buick GMC
invites the Charlotte community to stop in for a firsthand look at the highly
anticipated 2014 Buick and GMC SUV and truck models now available and showcased
on the Liberty showroom floor. The new 2014 models now available include the
Yukon Denali, Acadia and the Enclave and all come with new themes across the board of increased safety,
fuel economy and design innovations.
2014 GMC YUKON DENALI – One look at this full size SUV and you see
both luxury and athleticism. As a real competitor to other high-end SUVs, there
are 2 options powered by V-8 engines (320-hp, 5.3 liter V-8; 403-hp, 6.2 liter
V-8). The new active fuel management system shuts down half the cylinders under
light loads to improve fuel economy. It has an impressive towing capacity off
up to 8500 lbs and comes in both 2 and 4 wheel drive. The 2014 Yukon Denali
comes with heated and cooling leather seats, a best in class Bose audio system
and can be configured to seat up to 9 passengers. The unique Denali details
include its 20” chrome wheels and signature chrome grill.
2014 GMC ACADIA – Intelligent innovations complement this crossover
vehicle with a focus on safety and convenience. As an industry first, the 2014
Acadia features a front/center airbag that is hidden between the driver and the
front seat passenger that when triggered by impact separates and protects front
seat passengers from slamming into each other or onto the other side of the
car. Another unique addition is the Smart Slide® seating system
giving easy access to the third row of seating. This year’s model also boasts
the most cargo space behind the 3rd row of any other car in its
class with maximum cubic feet of 116.0. It seats 7-8 passengers and offers a
full color touch screen for temperature control.
2014 BUICK ENCLAVE – This luxury crossover vehicle is both conservative and classy, and also comes with some pretty impressive safety features. As one of the auto industry’s top safety picks in crash tests, the 2014 Enclave offers an industry first front/center airbag, blind spot monitors, cross traffics alerts, forward collision alerts and a lane departure warning system informing drivers of inadvertent lane changes. The contemporary interior adds seasonal comfort with its heated and cooled leather seating, 8 powered adjusted seats, tri-zone climate controls, spacious seating, and ambient lighting. For ease of movement, Buick’s Smart Slide® System is standard along with its power liftgate. Buick’s newest edition Enclave is powered by a 288 hp 3.6 liter V-6 engine.

Before your Test Drive
Buying a car can be a stressful event. Even if you feel
confident in your abilities to negotiate a great deal, there are a few tricks
that can make your experience more enjoyable. Getting a new car is a thrilling
experience. New cars take your life to the next level. Whether your family is
expanding or your current car is always in the shop, new car shopping should be
fun.
Tip #1 Do your Research!
There are a lot of options out there! From finding the right
dealership to finding the right car, the consumer is in control. Research is
your best defense according to Car
and Driver. Com. Ask yourself questions about how you will use the car. Do
you need a third row seat like offered in the GMC Acadia or would a sedan fit
your needs better, like the Buick Regal? Will this car be getting a lot of
miles on the road for work, maybe gas mileage is the biggest concern? Whatever
you are looking for, it is a good idea to determine which makes and models you
are interested in before you get on the lot.
Tip #2 How to find the right Dealer
Finding the right dealership is the next step. Look online
for reviews. Check places like the manufacturer website for recommendations.
Doing a quick Google search of the dealership will provide tons of information.
Reviews from customers will likely pop up and give unbiased opinions on their
experience. Ask around, this is the best advice. Friends and Family in the area
can you great help in finding the best dealership. Check out Liberty GMC and
Buick’s reviews here.
Tip #3 Know your price
This is where your research and working with a reputable
dealer really matters. Nobody wants to be talked into something they don’t
want. If you are able to buy the car immediately, knowing what you want to pay
is essential. If you are looking for financing, keep in mind the term, interest
rate, price, and monthly payment. These are the four essential elements to your
loan. Determine which is most important to you and this will help you get the
best deal.

Why Pay for a Hood Ornament?
Most vehicles on the market today use the same manufacturer
parts as their competitors. For example
the batteries in the Ford and Honda Hybrids are the same. They are both made by Sanyo.
The Office of Transportation and Machinery,
U.S. Department of Commerce reported in 2011 that “By 2017, more than 13 million
vehicles will be sold globally with connected-vehicle platforms.”
The connected-vehicle platform includes the
manufacturing of parts that can be used interchangeably in similar
vehicles. The parts are made, and will
be made in the future, in many different manufacturing plants around the world
to the same manufacturing standards.
They are required to be the same quality, use the same materials and
meet the same engineering specifications.
So
hypothetically if two vehicles in the market use 80 percent common parts
and 75 percent of the same
supply base why would a consumer pay ten thousand dollars more for one over
another? The short answer is status and
reputation. Sadly, uneducated consumers
tend to pay more for the hood ornament.
Compared to some of the other luxury lines Buick offers more
luxury amenities for less money. For
example, the BMW cost thousands more but has a lower liter engine, less
horsepower and inferior gas mileage.
Cadillac had, on average, lower horsepower and higher fuel costs than
Buick luxury sedans. Mercedes also boasts higher prices, lesser fuel economy,
smaller engines, and lower horsepower than comparable Buicks.
When it comes to luxury sedans, Buick, BMW, Mercedes, and
Cadillac usually come to mind but they are not equal when it comes to
value. They share 80% of the same parts
but BMW, Mercedes and Cadillac cost significantly more than Buick. Of the top four, Buick is the only one with
an affordable price tag in 2013.
Proven Buick luxury vehicles like the LaCrosse, Verano, and
Regal are made with high quality engineering and higher standards for design
and construction. The luxury label for Buick means that these Buick models are
vehicles of the highest quality and caliber.
The new kid on the block is the 2013 Buick Encore and it is proving to
be is this year’s bang-for-the-buck value winner.
Buick represents some of the most luxurious sedans on the
market today. In the end, those “high-end” luxury brand name makes are only
selling a fancy hood ornament with their price mark-ups.

Surprise Someone With 2013 Buick Encore for Christmas!
Some people may be hesitant to purchase a new or used
vehicle as a Christmas present. It seems like such a large gift, and of course,
it isn't the right gift for your coworker or neighbor! But a New 2013 BuickEncore or even used car can be the perfect gift for a spouse, especially if
they were thinking about purchasing a new or used car anyway. Giving a vehicle
as a Christmas present can be a perfect opportunity to give a spouse the car
that they really want when they're shopping for their next vehicle, but didn't
think they could afford. But there are some important things to keep in mind
when shopping for a new or used vehicle as a gift for someone else.
Come to the dealership already having done some research on
the vehicles. Customers should look into the recipient's taste in vehicles and
make sure they're shopping for the right car for that person. No one is going
to be excited to receive a used Prius when they're more interested in driving something
like Yukon Denali.
Of course, you’ll be buying in advance, but you better keep
that secret! This can be tricky, but it can be done. The most important thing
is to buy the vehicle about 4-7 days in
advance. You can't just drive the car home and hide it in the back yard. The
easiest way to conceal a brand new car as a Christmas present is by parking it
at a friend or family member's house. But be careful! Choose a friend who can
keep a secret and not one that your spouse may visit to drop off holiday goodies!
Prepare to sneak the car home on Christmas Eve – this is a
real sneaky part (and part of the fun). The gift-giver has to be sure that their
spouse is asleep or isn't going to notice that they've left. A good way to
sneak out is to make some excuse about buying a few necessary last minute
groceries. The hard part now is just making sure the spouse doesn't go outside
before Christmas morning! Also be sure to give the dealership a cell phone
number, and not a house phone. Customers wouldn't want to run the risk of
receiving a phone call from the dealership and having their spouse pick it up.
This could ruin the surprise!
Studies have shown that right before Christmas is actually
one of the best times of year to go out and buy a new or used vehicle. New
vehicles are all on sale because of year-end sales at dealerships, and used
cars are usually on sale just before Christmas, as dealers want customers to
purchase used vehicles as Christmas presents.
So if you're interested in purchasing a brand new or used
vehicle for your loved one this holiday season, you can look no further than
Scott McCorkle's Liberty Buick GMC Trucks. Liberty is running great year-end
specials, and we're happy to help you find the right car for your spouse! Call
866-442-0871 or visit the website at www.clickliberty.com.
