The 2017 Buick Encore vs the Mini Cooper Countryman
Are you
looking for a crossover (CUV) in Charlotte? Let’s compare the 2017 Buick Encore with the
2016 Mini Cooper Countryman. Liberty Buick GMC in Matthews, NC of course
prefers the 2017 Buick Encore to the Mini Cooper Countryman- but don’t just
take our word for it!
There are
legitimate reasons why the Buick Encore is America’s best-selling compact sport
utility vehicle. Space, Interior/Exterior looks, and Safety/Reliability – these
are categories where the 2017
Buick Encore outclasses the Mini Cooper Countryman.
Space. A key ingredient for a modern day
CUV is roominess. The 2017 Buick Encore’s interior provides spacious seating
and plentiful room for storage and cargo, including the ability to fold down
both the back seats and the front passenger seat. This capability turns the
18.8 cubic-foot load bay into a nearly 50 cubic-foot area, perfect for the
weekend errands. The Countryman allows for 42 cubic-foot area with its seats
folded down. According to The Car Connection’s side-by-side comparison, the
interior of the 2017 Buick Encore surpasses the Mini Cooper Countryman in the
following categories: second shoulder room, front leg room, second leg room,
front shoulder room, and second head room. U.S. News and World Report noted
that the Mini Cooper “has one of the smallest cargo capacities in the class,
and you’ll be hard-pressed to find room for anything beyond a weekend’s worth
of luggage” and that “the cabin lacks any appreciable small-item storage
space.” Why feel cramped driving around Charlotte in a Mini?
Interior
Amenities. Much like roominess, the 2017 Buick Encore
defeats the Mini Cooper. Inside the Encore you will find a redesigned dashboard with an 8-inch diagonal color
touch screen with built in 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot that lets you stay tuned in with
all that is going on in Charlotte. You will also enjoy the Encore’s Buick
QuietTuning ™ and Active Noise Cancellation technologies. Other features
include keyless ignition, ambient lighting, rearview camera, and heated
mirrors.
The Exterior. Let’s be honest. The Mini Cooper
Countryman is a fine-looking British-style car. But this is America. The
handsome 2017 Buick Encore
comes with a redesigned front end with a new wing-designed grille and
newly-shaped lights and foglights. The Encore’s backside has been redesigned as
well – new LED taillights and a new bumper. Compared to the aptly named Mini,
the Encore is nearly 4 inches taller and over 6 inches longer.
Safety and
Reliability. The 2017 Buick Encore comes equipped with a
rearview camera and10 airbags. You can also upgrade your Encore’s safety
features with forward collision and lane departure warning systems. The Encore
was given an overall score of 5 stars (out of 5) by the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration. If you are curious about the Mini’s safety
history, Google “Mini Cooper Recalls” or read what U.S. News and World Report
had to say – “though it scores well in crash tests, the Countryman does not
have much in the way or driver assistance features.”
BMW
vehicles are notorious for their good looks and painful, expensive repairs. The
Mini Cooper Countryman is no exception. The Consumer Affairs website houses
hundreds upon hundreds of complaints from disgruntled Cooper owners who have to
suffer BMW’s infamous and expensive nightmares.
Rational
people can argue and compare the greatness of The Godfather I or The Godfather
II? The Stones or the Beatles? Tupac or Biggie? But what we can’t argue is the Buick
Encore or the Mini Cooper Countryman.
Come
down to Liberty Buick
GMC and drive off with a Buick Encore that suits your family’s needs.

The Experience Buick Leasing Program at Liberty Buick GMC
There are many reasons why the Buick brand is
transforming itself from a mainstream car to a luxury brand. However, one reason in particular is the
highly successful Experience
Buick program that rolled out in March of 2012. This is a 24-month leasing program that gives
buyers a whole lot for their money including convenience, entertainment and
luxury. For one monthly payment, buyers have peace of mind that their new Buick
will get them where they want to go.
Available now at Liberty Buick GMC, this program is offered
to customers who lease a 2013 or a 2014 Buick vehicle through Ally Financial.
“We’ve seen a jump in leasing for many of our
models,” says Scott McCorkle, owner of Liberty Buick GMC. Since the program’s inception, we’ve our
leasing rates have gone up a great deal.”
What makes this program attractive is the leasing
package itself? Each vehicle leased
under the Experience Buick program includes Experience Buick Protection including
scheduled maintenance for the life of the lease. These maintenance services include oil
changes, oil filter changes and tire rotations.
In addition to maintenance, the Experience Buick leasing program
includes premium services like OnStar, and the OnStar RemoteLink Mobile App, and
SiriusXM Satellite Radio with the XM Premier Package including Plus
Traffic.
Consider trading in your car for a brand new luxury
Buick with that everyone will be talking about.
Imagine with a simple monthly payment you could be driving a world-class
luxury sedan like the LaCrosse or a practically designed, well appointed Verano
sedan.
Stop by and check out the Experience Buick program
at Liberty Buick GMC today. Tell them

New Taillights on 2013 Enclave Are an Industry Innovation
Back in 2007 Buick released the all-new Buick Enclave luxury crossover SUV.
The Enclave was the first in a series of new Buicks that would mark a brand new
era in Buick design. Now, with the 2013 model year just around the corner, the
Enclave will bring forth a new industry standard yet again.
The new 2013 Enclave comes equipped with new, advanced exterior lighting. Included in the new exterior lighting is a new innovation in taillights, brought to you by Buick engineers. The new taillights were developed with supplier 3M, and are the” next big thing” in LED taillights. The lights feature a “soft, uniform red glow in a complex and unique shape,” according to a press release from Buick. The new lights, much like the standard LED daytime running lamps and accent lighting, are part of a shift in Buick design that will be offered on many of their new vehicles soon.
“As a brand driven by intelligent design and technology, Buick has to be at the forefront of purposeful, modern design cues,” said Mark Adams, executive director of Buick Design. “Our signature LED lighting serves a double purpose of providing a premium look and making sure our vehicles are unmistakable in the eyes and mirrors of other drivers on the road. Some of the new Enclave’s design cues will carry over to other Buick models to come, but every execution will be true to each model’s character.”
The light supply company, 3M, is responsible for the production of the new signature glow of the Buick Enclave taillight. The lights will utilize the 3M Uniform Lighting Lens Technology. This new light technology is made with an innovative new precision engineered material. This material can provide lighting with even coverage across even the most complex shapes and uses fewer LEDs, which can save on both the complexity of the light fixture and the amount of energy that the light draws from the vehicle.
The 2013 Enclave will also feature new daytime running lamps in the shape of an L. In addition Enclave will utilize high-intensity discharge headlamps, which are much more effective and efficient than the traditional halogen lamps. Inside lighting on the new Enclave is new mood-setting ice blue ambient lighting. Enclave will feature a great new design feature: optional articulating headlamps, which will rotate to fit the curvature of the road.
If you are interested in purchasing a new 2013 Buick Enclave, don’t hesitate to stop by and talk to us at Liberty Buick GMC Trucks today at 9028 East Independence Boulevard; give us a call at 704-321-4366 or visit our website at www.clickliberty.com.

2013 GMC Acadia Focuses on Space
The 2013 GMC Acadia made a splash at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show with its new focus on space, cargo and seating capacity. The Acadia is a great three-row crossover that provides the capacity for vacations, regular carpools and yard projects! Tony Disalle, GMC's Vice President of marketing states, ”With an award winning combination of space, capability and fuel-efficiency, Acadia optimizes GMC’s ‘never say never’ attitude. For 2013, our engineers and designers applied that same attitude to develop the new Acadia.”
Car and Driver describes the 2013 Acadia as "having sharper creases." Acadia has eliminated the soft, rounded nose and the recessed grill from earlier models. The new interior design includes LED lighting and GMC describes the refined interior as placing an "emphasis on soft touch materials with accent French stitching and red ambient lighting across the dash." And since safety is always a priority with GMC products, the rear vision camera is standard in the Acadia.
The Acadia debuted in 2007 and quickly became a hit with families. Last year was the best sales year ever and with the new improvements, GMC dealers like Scott McCorkle’s Liberty Buick GMC is hopeful that drivers will be eager to try the 2013 Acadia. The three rows of seating is a plus for families and groups, and all the gear for just about any outing or activity. The seating and cargo space is ample to get everyone and everything there in comfort with room to spare.
Considering finally building that tree house? The 2013 Acadia is the answer to hauling all the plywood. The 2nd and 3rd rows can be folded down completely flat to accommodate sheets of wood up to 48 inches wide to build the best tree house on the block!
