"Tire manufacturer Michelin North America has announced that due to the increase in raw material, energy and transportation costs, it is increasing prices by 6% to 36% on Michelin, BFGoodrich and Kleber brand tires and tubes sold in the US and Canada, effective July 1, 2008."
Higher oil prices mean not only higher gas prices, but increased costs on all products associated with petroleum manufacturing. That means more out of the pocketbook for us all. There are steps we take; however, to increase tire wear and get the best value from our investment.
- Use the right tires for your vehicle and road conditions.
- Check tire pressure on a monthly basis, using a good quality tire gauge. (Stop by Liberty Pontiac GMC Truck Service Dept. for your FREE Tire Pressure Check)
- Have tires rotated and aligned according to manufacturer recommendations. (Check your Owner's Manual, or do what I do - Call George and Rob!!)
- Have your vehicle's tires balanced if you feel abnormal vibration.
- Monitor tread wear and replace tires when tire tread is worn out.
- Visually check treads for foreign objects and tires for rips and tears.
