Here's How They Stretch Summer Dollars - Faith, Family, & Freedom Concert ticket winners

Congratulations to our Faith, Family, & Freedom Concert ticket winners: Shana Boley, Horace Kersey, Laura Moody, & Joseph Stefan! Hope you enjoyed the concert and fireworks. Here are a few ways they are making their summer dollars go a bit further:

• The Boley house hold has made a plan for this summers activities.... We have a 14 year old daughter and she of course wants to do everything under the sun. Remember when you were a kid and you would leave the house in the morning and not come home until supper. Supper was a time to catch up on everyones day and not just to eat. Those days have been lost with this generation so we have decided to bring them back to our family.If it's free it's me..... My husband just lost his job, everything happens for a reason. We have turned off the the computer and TV and really focused on doing things as a family. We go for walks and bike rides in the evening and communicate to each other without calling each other on the cell phone, texting or emailing. As my daughter states we are now living back in the old days. It has brought us closer and we look forward to exploring museums in the area, attending church functions, going to the lake to swim and just being together. It's amazing when half your income is taken away how simple you can make your life. In my opinion it should always be that way. - Shana Boley
• 1)saving energy by using home fans and less air conditioner 2)drive within the speed limits to save on gas 3)using my vehicle when it is necessary and doing more walking when possible for better health 4)before taking long trips making sure that my vehicle is in pristeen condition. - Horace Kersey
• A few things I'm doing to save money is clipping and using coupons at the grocery store. I am trying to combine as my trips in the car to save on gas. I am including my children on the budgeting for the gas & groceries, to show how much we have to spend on the essentials. We are also sharing our vacation at the beach with another family to cut down on the cost. - Laura Moody
• Combining trips to the store,cleaners etc. Using one car to the office, drop off one of us and the other parks where parking is free or the lowest. Eating out less often. A/C @74
